From September 28 to October 1, Zheng Wei, Vice Dean and Tenured Professor of the School of Humanities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, together with faculty representatives from the International Chinese Education Center and the Office of Cooperation and Exchange, visited Mahidol University and Kasetsart University in Thailand. The delegation held in-depth discussions with the two partner universities on dual-degree programs, student exchange, and research collaboration.
On September 29, the delegation visited Mahidol University and attended the graduation and degree-conferring ceremony for the second cohort of the joint undergraduate dual-degree program between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Mahidol University's Faculty of Liberal Arts. Nuttakritta Chotipaktanasook, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Mahidol University, received the delegation. During the ceremony, leaders from both faculties delivered speeches, followed by remarks from a graduating student representative and a faculty representative. The degree certificates were then presented, and the tassel-turning ceremony was held.

On September 30, the delegation visited the Faculty of Humanities at Kasetsart University and held cooperation talks with Dean Thongrob Ruenbamrung, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Chatuwit Keawsuwan, and faculty representatives from the Chinese Department. The School of Humanities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University signed an exchange agreement with the Faculty of Humanities at Kasetsart University in December 2024, and both the undergraduate exchange program and the doctoral research internship program are progressing steadily. During the talks, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on key areas for future cooperation and implementation plans, and signed a faculty-level Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

This visit deepened the two-way exchange between the School of Humanities and its partner universities in Thailand in talent cultivation and academic research, laying a solid foundation for the continued development of the dual-degree program and student exchange initiatives. Moving forward, the School will build on this visit to ensure that its cooperation initiatives deliver tangible results, work hand in hand with Thai partner institutions, and contribute to building a close and mutually trusting international education community.
